We began with a mission to help Black individuals become family, community, and a people who find purpose and clarity in their African lives. This clarity and educational preparedness becomes a beacon for our people and humanity. It helps us fashion solutions and bridges.

This groundedness in African identity and community provides the basis for vision, strength and action unfettered by oppression or miseducation. It provides direction for healing ourselves, compassion and defence - where needed. It becomes a light for humanity.

With years of practical teaching experience, our board members and faculty have helped thousands achieve their goals, land dream jobs, and feel fulfilled in their careers. During my father's day, those were necessary, but not sufficient.

The same is true today. We must also be a people with a purpose big enough, deep enough to restore our people and turn the world right-side-up again. That was my father's mission, and it is the mission of MGEA.
